U.S. Tractor Sales Remain Strong in August, Combine Sales Steady

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in 2020, were up 13% in August compared to 2019.
Agri Marketing magazine reports that for the year, a total of 194,495 tractors were sold which compares to 170,642 sold in 2019 representing a 14% increase.
For the month of August, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 15% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 14%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 8%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 14%.
For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 17% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 11%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 3%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 10%.
Combine sales were even for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 3,140 compared to 3,032 in 2019, a 4% increase.
