Beef Raised by Michigan Cattleman Served at White House 4th of July Celebration
July 6, 2025
The Michigan Cattlemen’s Association (MCA) is pleased to announce that Michigan beef was on display at the White House 4th of July celebration in Washington, D.C.
Michigan cattle producer and former Michigan Cattlemen’s Association board member Don Nevill raised some of the high-quality beef that was served to the White House’s guests, a guest list that includes major dignitaries, servicemembers, Cabinet officials, and senior White House staff.
“I’m incredibly honored to have beef from my farm in Michigan served at the White House for the 4th of July, said Nevill. “I’ve been in the cattle business my whole life and I’m just blown away by this opportunity.”
Nevill traveled to Washington, D.C. from his family farm in Michigan to participate in the event where he had the opportunity to see President Donald J. Trump, walk the White House grounds, and view fireworks. Nevill has been involved in the cattle industry his whole life, starting with his own herd of Angus cattle at age 14. Today, Nevill and his family own Nevill Supply, Inc., an agricultural equipment and supply store in Clare. Much of the equipment they sell is used on their own farming operation and the shop operates under the principle of “farmers serving farmers.” Nevill is an active member of the Michigan Cattlemen’s Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
“It’s a huge honor for Michigan’s cattle producers to be featured at the White House in this special way,” said Michigan Cattlemen’s Association Executive Vice President Sara Horton Flokstra. “We are so proud of our members like Don Nevill for the daily hard work they put into raising a safe, high-quality, and wholesome product like beef. We hope the White House attendees enjoyed the beef and continue their 4th of July celebration with a juicy steak or a delicious burger.”

The Michigan Cattlemen’s Association has been serving Michigan’s beef producers since 1960 with services, promotional activities, and policy advocacy. The association represents Michigan’s 15,000 cattle producers ensuring they have a voice across the state. The Michigan Cattlemen’s Association is also an affiliate of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the national trade association for cattle farmers and ranchers in all 50 states.
