Miss American Angus 2026: Claire Murnin

November 3, 2025

Claire Murnin of Montana made history this past weekend at the Angus Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, when she was crowned the 2026 Miss American Angus — becoming the first Montanan ever to hold the prestigious title.

The honor, presented by the American Angus Association and the American Angus Auxiliary, recognizes exceptional young women who represent the Angus breed and the beef industry across the nation.

As Miss American Angus, Murnin will serve as an ambassador for the breed throughout the coming year, appearing at national shows, field days, and youth events. She will promote Angus cattle and the beef industry while mentoring junior members and sharing the story of ranching and agriculture with producers and consumers alike.

Watch Claires interview with Western Ag Network below:

A lifelong member of the National Junior Angus Association, Murnin has deep roots in Montana’s ranching community and a passion for leadership, advocacy, and education. Her achievement continues the Auxiliary’s long-standing mission—established in 1969—to empower young women in the Angus business through service, communication, and scholarship opportunities.

The crowning ceremony took place before hundreds of Angus breeders and industry leaders attending the 2025 Angus Convention, one of the premier gatherings celebrating innovation and excellence in the beef industry.
