Northern Livestock Video Auction Results

Northern Livestock Video Auction (NLVA) held its Early Summer Special at the Public Auction Yards in Billings, MT today.

USDA reports that 10,961 head of feeder cattle sold.

Auctioneer Ty Thompson with NLVA told Western Ag Network that prices for the sale were strong.

“The prices were definitely stronger than we thought they would be in light of the higher feed prices across the country,” said Thompson. “But, we have lot of Canadian activity which puts Montana at freight advantage which we haven't had for many, many years. So that's good to see. These Northern calves just sold with a lot of demand. Many lots of calves would have up to six or seven buyers bidding on each lot. It was deep and active.”
