Excitement Grows for 2024 Montana Ag-Tech Innovation & Investment Summit in Bozeman

The 2024 Montana Ag-Tech Innovation & Investment Summit is set to take place on November 6, drawing together a dynamic blend of agriculture, technology, and investment leaders to Montana State University’s Norm Asbjornson Hall in Bozeman. Organized by the Montana Agricultural Business Association, the Montana Department of Agriculture, and Montana State University, the summit aligns with Celebrate Ag Week, an annual tradition celebrating the state's agricultural heritage and advancements.

The event serves as a melting pot for Montana’s agricultural producers, venture capitalists, and academic minds, showcasing advancements that are reshaping the future of agriculture in the state and beyond. Chris Averill from the Montana Agricultural Business Association highlighted the summit’s collaborative environment, where “growers and producers” can connect with “folks in venture capital” and “academia” to explore emerging trends and innovations. This year’s summit agenda dives into cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence, climate solutions, and energy transitions, underlining the critical role technology plays in enhancing Montana’s agricultural sector.

Averill emphasized the summit’s unique value, particularly for those who have attended before: “If you’ve been to this before, you know the value. And if you haven’t, then we invite you to come...There’s going to be a lot of discussion about AI and how it impacts agriculture.” Special guests like Director Christy Clark from the Montana Department of Agriculture and representatives from the financial services industry will contribute insights, offering practical applications and funding opportunities.

Additionally, the summit will feature a speed pitch contest, inviting entrepreneurs to present new ideas in ag-tech. With MSU students, faculty, and industry leaders in attendance, the event promises to spotlight Montana’s contributions to ag-tech and expand on innovation and investment in the sector.
