Cattle Sale with a Cause: Supporting Duchenne Research

September 12, 2024

On September 19, 2024 the Heaton family will be hosting their annual "Calves to Cure DMD" cattle sale at Billings Livestock Commission to raise funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) research. Their 10-year-old son, Grant, was diagnosed with DMD at age three, a genetic disease that primarily affects boys, causing muscles to break down and turn into scar tissue. Currently, there is no cure, and boys with DMD typically face mobility challenges by their early teens and have a shortened life expectancy.

For the sixth year, proceeds from the sale will benefit Cure Duchenne, a nonprofit funding DMD research. Sellers can choose how much of their sales price to donate, and all contributions are tax-deductible.
