AgroLiquid Expands Portfolio with Six Monty’s Plant Food Products Focused on Soil Health
September 23, 2026
AgroLiquid is expanding its crop nutrition toolbox with six products from Monty’s Plant Food Company, giving growers new options focused on humic and fulvic acids, soil health, nutrient availability and fertilizer efficiency.
AgroLiquid National Agronomist Stephanie Zelinko says the additions follow the company’s acquisition of Monty’s Plant Food roughly a year and a half ago. After evaluating the products this past summer, AgriLiquid is now bringing six of them into its broader portfolio.
“We’re excited to announce that we have released six new products into our product portfolio from the Monty’s Plant Foods group,” Zelinko said. “Primarily focusing on that humic and fulvic acid side of things, which is kind of an area that AgriLiquid really hasn’t been a big player in historically.”
For growers, Zelinko says the significance goes beyond simply adding more fertilizer products. The Monty’s line allows AgroLiquid to put additional emphasis on the soil itself and how effectively it can retain and make nutrients available to a growing crop.
A Greater Focus on Soil Health
AgroLiquid has traditionally focused heavily on crop nutrition and building fertility programs around soil testing. Zelinko says the Monty’s products add another dimension by targeting soil health, biology and nutrient-holding capacity.
“We’re really talking about that soil health, that soil biology, increasing that holding capacity, rather than just the nutritional side that we’ve historically talked about,” Zelinko said.
That could be especially important as growers continue looking for ways to maximize every input dollar amid challenging commodity prices and elevated production costs.
Zelinko said the goal remains to begin with soil testing, understand what is already available and then build a fertility program around the specific needs of the field and crop.
“Looking at those soil tests, working with trained experts to ensure that we have a good understanding of what those soil test values need and what they mean, and then being able to build a good fertility program off of those,” she said.
Adding humic and fulvic acid products doesn't necessarily mean simply adding another expense, Zelinko said. Instead, the objective is to help growers make better use of nutrients they are already purchasing.
"If we're able to have more holding capacity and get more out of those nutritional dollars that we're already spending money on, "Zelinko said, "having these products as part of our portfolio just makes sense."
Six New Options for Growers
Among the products being added is Monty’s Liquid Carbon, which Zelinko described as one of the best-known products from Monty’s. The 2% humic acid product is designed as a soil conditioner to support soil structure, nutrient availability and moisture and nutrient holding capacity.
Its counterpart, Monty’s Dry Carbon, provides 47% humic acid in a dry formulation and can be blended with dry fertilizers, providing an option for growers who aren't equipped to apply liquid products.
AgriLiquid is also adding Monty’s Surge XD, a combination of humic and fulvic acids that can be used at planting or as a foliar application.
Another addition is a Monty’s foliar product designed to serve as a carrier or driver for crop nutrition. Zelinko said its fulvic acid component can help deliver foliar nutrition into the crop.
Monty’s Agro Sweet combines fructose and glucose and is designed to provide a food source for microbial activity in the soil. Zelinko said it can be paired with Liquid Carbon and other products as part of a soil-focused fertility program.
The sixth addition is Monty’s Premium Blend, a 5-23-6 starter fertilizer containing 100% orthophosphate along with sulfur, zinc and humic acid.
“Currently AgroLiquid did not have a pure ortho-phosphate product in our portfolio,” Zelinko said. “For those guys that are looking for that pop-up or that starter fertilizer, this is a good option.”
‘Prosper the Farmer’
While the expanded lineup gives AgriLiquid new products and additional flexibility, Zelinko says the overall objective hasn't changed.
"That's the company's mission. It's always been the mission from the start: prosper the farmer," Zelinko said. "I think having these Monty products is going to help just build on that mission."
The products are now available through AgroLiquid’s retail network across much of the United States, subject to state registration. For more information about AgroLiquid products and services, visit AgroLiquid.com.
