Fall Delivered Calves in High Demand in Superior Livestock's Week in the Rockies Sale

Tight cattle supplies and a record corn crop on tap continue to have fall delivered calves in high demand. Superior Livestock auctioneer Kyle Shobe says that was certainly evident in Superior Livestock Auction’s Week in the Rockies Sale in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Over 239,800 head of calves, feeder cattle and breeding stock were offered here July 10-13 during Superior's Week In The Rockies video cattle auction. Broadcast live from The Steamboat Grand, the auction had producers from 33 states consign 20% steer calves 250-595 lbs.; 14% heifer calves 225-595 lbs.; 40% feeder steers 600-1100 lbs.; 21% feeder heifers 600-1250 lbs.; 1% breeding stock. Cattle sold on contract to deliver immediately through the end of April 2024.
