Columbia Grain a Proud Supporter of Women in Agriculture

Like other industries, women play a very important role in Agriculture. And this week women from across Western Ag Network country will be gathering in Fort Benton, Montana for the StrongHer Together Conference.

Shandel Fouts is an Accounting Clerk and Grain Buyer at Columbia Grain International (CGI) in Harlem, Mont. She says CGI is proud to sponsor this event and support women in agriculture like her.

"The StrongHer Together Conference is a conference that's being hosted in Fort Benton," said Fouts. "It's for women in agriculture. They're bringing in different guest speakers and things. And Columbia Grain is sponsoring this event. They're happy to partner with people that share the same passion and vision of cultivating growth in agriculture industries.

She says women play a very important role in the day to day operation at CGI.

"Columbia Grain actually has a lot of women in agriculture within their company and we do a little bit of everything," said Fouts. "In Harlem, I do the bookkeeping. I also help dump trucks if we're behind and I help load the shuttles. So, we kind of work as a big team and everybody does a little bit of everything there."
