Montana Grain Growers Association Names Shawna Severson Executive Vice President

October 6, 2026

The Montana Grain Growers Association (MGGA) Board of Directors has named Shawna Severson as Executive Vice President. Severson has served as Interim Executive Vice President since April and will now continue leading the association in the permanent role.

Since stepping into the interim role, Severson has overseen the association’s day to day operations, advocacy efforts, staff, member services, communications and events while working closely with the Board of Directors, members and industry partners.

“Over this interim period, Shawna has proven herself to be a great leader of our organization. She brings a wealth of outside experience and knowledge that has proven invaluable. We greatly appreciate the attitude and enthusiasm she brings every day. Her leadership will help shape MGGA’s future while keeping our members and their needs at the center of what we do,” said Steve Sheffels, President of MGGA.

Prior to assuming the executive leadership role, Severson served as MGGA’s Office Manager and Event Coordinator. Her years with the association, combined with her professional experience outside of MGGA, have given her a strong understanding of the organization, its members and the issues affecting Montana’s grain industry.

“The past six months have given me an even greater appreciation for the strength of this organization and, most importantly, the producers we represent,” Severson said. “I’m excited about what’s ahead for MGGA and ready to keep building on the work we’ve started. It is a privilege to serve Montana’s grain growers as Executive Vice President.”
